Status Update
Each year, the Town holds a flag-raising ceremony and reflective walk to encourage Staff to consider the tragic history of residential schools and help to ensure this legacy is not forgotten. Due to several changes at Town Hall and the Niagara Region Native Centre (NRNC), the CAO's office organized an introduction meeting, which took place in June. Future discussions will take place, which will include drafting an MOU with NRNC. Staff are looking into future training sessions to provide awareness and information.
